My name is Max and I’m a 28-year-old recent addition to the beautiful state of Oregon. I’m a fan of writing, so I’ve started my very own blog Garavato to flood the internet with my wit. I was fortunate to spend my early 20s mixing travel with school and work, so I’m hoping at some point to find some stories appropriate enough to share. One of the greatest results of my abroad experiences is my wife, who I met during a year-long exchange to Ecuador. We’ve been in Vegas for the last 3 years (me for 5) and have decided that Oregon is where we want to be for at least the immediate future.

Thanks so much for looking at the About page! I’m sorry it’s not funny. Feel free to add a joke in the comments section.

Let me get this straight: two posts in, and you’ve already been Freshly Pressed?
That riocks – for you. For thousands of other bloggers, it demonstrates how messed up WordPress actually is!
Great blog you’re building here, though. Keep up the good work, Max!

Thanks man! It’s definitely pretty lucky that I was selected, but I’m definitely not complaining : ) I guess it goes to show anyone can get some awesome exposure, no matter how long you’ve been doing it or how many articles you’ve posted. Thanks again for the encouragement!

Loved the health insurance post. So many can relate. Congrats on FP, and enjoying blogging.

Well written blog! Congrats on getting Fresh Pressed, and best of luck clearing up that health insurance fiasco.

Thanks so much! I’m sure it’ll all work out in the end…

I am forced to change Insurance Companies next year when I move “out of the service area”. If the young and the healthy have this kind of trouble, what chance does a middle-aged, menopausal woman with 4 (yes, that’s FOUR) chronic conditions have to be accepted by any carrier?
    I am so screwed!!

Sounds like a pretty frustrating situation… I don’t actually know anything about health insurance, so I’m not even sure where you would start. There’s got to be some groups out there that can help you gather options… Maybe post it on the main discussion page? There seemed to be a lot of people there with good info.

I’m writing to you on this page, because I felt like I was in danger of getting crushed on the Freshly Pressed page. I am in awe of you. Most bloggers are never Freshly Pressed, and to have done this with your second post rivals the discovery of fire. Or something like that. You are a seriously funny guy. As in seriously. I follow too many bloggers, but I will follow you, just so I can say I knew you when.

Thanks for such a wonderful post! I think it was pretty random in how I was selected for the FP page, but I’m glad to hear you think so highly of my writing! I appreciate the following, hope I can keep you coming back!

Thanks so much! I’m originally from around here so it feels like coming back home (it’s been about ten years : )

I’ll make sure to keep posting!
